A lot of people claim that nuclear terrorism is a very dangerous threat that the world is currently facing. Just imagine a million or more people dying from the explosion of a nuclear weapon having tornado-strength winds spreading flames that are much hotter than the surface of the sun itself. If there would be survivors, they would have no electricity, no transportation, no phones, and hospitals would be overwhelmed. Furthermore, the damage to the economy would result to trillions of dollars and the reverberating economic effects throughout a certain country and the world would come to several times that figure.

The US, Russia, the UK, France, and China are members of the official owners club, who made their weapons early and had them legitimized in the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) signed in 1968, the key piece of international law governing nuclear weapons possession. Whereas North Korea, India, Pakistan, and Israel ignored the treaty and made their own bombs.
There are two types of primary nuclear bombs use. The process of splitting the nucleus of an atom into two or more smaller nuclei is called fission or can also be a two-stage process that uses fission and the weapons made out of it are called atomic bombs. While fusion is the process by which multiple hydrogen nuclei join together to form a heavier nucleus. Hydrogen bombs or thermonuclear weapons can be made by using both fission and fusion.
There are three types of nuclear weapons based on the material used. They are uranium bombs, plutonium bombs and hydrogen bombs. The uranium bombs are relatively easy to design and make but require a material that is difficult to obtain which is a purified uranium-235. The plutonium bombs require an easy material to obtain which is plutonium-239 but is more difficult to design. The hydrogen bombs are the most difficult to make since they require a uranium or plutonium bomb to serve as the trigger for the fusion reaction. Hydrogen bombs are the most destructive of the three types since it was made by joining two lighter atoms (eg hydrogen) at extremely high temperatures to produce one heavier one (eg helium).
Now that you know the dangers of nuclear weapons, you can save millions of lives by signing a pledge against their use. There are pledges for no first use of a nuclear power not to use nuclear weapons as a means of warfare unless first attacked by an adversary using nuclear weapons.
