Different Types of Fish to Keep in an Aquarium

Fish are great as pets, provided you understand how to take care of them. Aquariums are great places to look at in your house. But most people find the work of maintaining a great looking and fresh aquarium to be too much. Should you manage that task, you shall find them to be great pets to have around. This means you need to know which fish is easier to care for. You need to also select breeds that can live among others. Here are several of them which you shall also know how to feed.
Danios are among the small, active and colorful kinds. These are normally in red, yellow and green. They may be lively, but are not aggressive and can therefore coexist with other species. They shall do well in a large aquarium with gravel and plants at the bottom, with pH levels close to that of fresh water.
Black Molly, on the other hand, can survive in fresh, brackish or salt water. They are thus easier to care for. They tend to be platinum colored, dusty gold or black. Their diet is made up of flake and pellet foods, bloodworms and brine shrimp. They live well with other similar sized fish.
Platies are the more colorful kind, mostly in blue, purple, red-orange, and yellow. They can be bred to produce more color blends. They are quiet and live well among other quiet fish. The male species are normally smaller than the female ones. They do well in warmer water and eat flake food, freeze-dried food, and algae.
Betta fish come in shapes like half-moon, double-tail and crown tail. They like warmer water that is rinsed off often.
Neon Tetra have silver or white abdomens with bright blue backs. They also live well with other species.
Guppies are the most playful, and you shall see them breeding a lot. You shall soon have lots of guppies in your aquarium. Their females may grow to be two times the size of the males. The males are however the ones with the more colorful bodies.
You shall tell a Rainbow fish by the way there are colored. They appear even more colorful once they settle in the aquarium. They are not aggressive or that much active.
Glofish are similar to Danios, except for their neon shine. They are also passive fish.
